Media and Corporate Relations
The Media and Corporate Relations team promotes and protects the reputation of the University through external print and broadcast media and on the web, and handles community relations issues in the Greater Belfast area.
The main activities are;

Issuing information to the media on the work of the University and responding to media inquiries

Dissemination of information about the corporate and research activities of the University

Sourcing university experts to contribute to media news and features

Trawling for University stories with external media visibility potential

Maintaining the University's Media Centre on Facebook

Maintaining the University’s Directory of Expertise

Briefing media representatives on the work of the University

Guidance for University staff on dealing with media relations issues
-
Monitoring and reporting media coverage

Public affairs monitoring and lobbying
-
Political liaison and public engagement
-
Investigating and reporting on alleged incidents of anti-social behaviour by students resident in local communities in the Belfast area

Engagement with residents’ associations, council officials, other educational institutions, the police and other relevant bodies on issues related to the maintenance of good relations between students of the University and residents of pericampus communities

Promoting good relations between students of the University and residents of pericampus communities
The team are happy to arrange independent comment and background briefings on any of the vast range of subjects on which the University's academics are expert.
